Army of the Dead trailer pits Dave Bautista against a zombie tiger

Netflix has released the official trailer for Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead. The Netflix movie brings the zombie genre and the heist genre together—something we all needed but didn’t know that we needed.

In the trailer, we are serenaded by Kenny Rogers’ “The Gambler,” which is fitting since the heist will take place in a Las Vegas casino.

We also see Scott Ward (Dave Bautista) going about his day as what appears to be a cook in a local diner. The radio announcer tells us about zombies that are locked down in the city of Las Vegas. A sketchy man walks in with a deal for Scott to make $50 million.

Obviously, Scott agrees to the deal as that is the launch point for the story. But, as the trailer progresses, it makes you wonder if he starts to rethink his decision to compile a team and enter the zombie-infested streets of Las Vegas.

Snyder co-wrote and directed Army of the Dead. Whenever his name is tied to something, you expect something amazing.

As we move further along into the trailer, we see a horde of zombies walled in on the strip in Las Vegas. This horde is enormous! Not only that, these zombies aren’t your slow-moving Walking Dead type. These World War Z-fast zombies with added intelligence. The trailer tells us they are smart and organized, a combination that will be interesting to see.

Out of the blue, an amazing zombie tiger enters the scene! This has to be one of the coolest zombies ever. Where this tiger came from and how he became a zombie is part of the story I want to know. Perhaps there are many animal zombies from different shows in Vegas. Whatever the case, it is an amazing addition to the film.

Army of the Dead releases on Netflix on May 21.
