Whether you want comedy or horror, Easter Weekend 2021 is a good time to have Netflix. It’s time to countdown the best movies on Netflix to watch this weekend.

It’s a good weekend thanks to a new month starting. There was a good list of content that arrived on April 1, and the few days that followed have offered up more great content.

It doesn’t matter if you want more Idris Elba in your life or you’re looking for something to entertain the whole family. Netflix really does have you covered over Easter Weekend 2021.

Got a little overwhelmed by the full list of new arrivals. We’ve got you covered with these top five picks.

5 must-watch movies on Netflix: Concrete Cowboy and more

Concrete Cowboy

We start with the newest Netflix Original Movie on the streamer. Idris Elba stars as one of the Black cowboys in a tight-knit Philadelphia community in Concrete Cowboy. We’re introduced into this community through the eyes of his teenage son, who isn’t all that happy about the idea of spending the summer with his estranged father.

Insidious

Need a little bit of horror in your life? You’ll want to check out Insidious. When a family moves into a new home, they expect just a fresh start. However, the couple’s son falls into a mysterious coma and supernatural events start to happen around them. The couple will need to call in an expert in the paranormal to help figure out the events and save their family.

The Pianist

Sometimes, you need movies on Netflix that are going to make you cry. The Pianist is one of them, and it’s back on Netflix right now.

Set during World War II, it follows Wladyslaw, an acclaimed Polish musician, who struggles with life as he loses contact with his entire family. The situation around Warsaw grows gradually worse and he needs to hide in the ruins of his beloved city just to survive.

Legally Blonde

There is nobody better than Reese Witherspoon when you want characters that seem like a stereotype to turn out to be something very different. Legally Blonde certainly put her on the map (although who didn’t love her in Cruel Intentions?) when it came to leading roles.

She plays Elle, who decides to head to law school to prove she’s more than just a pretty face, and it turns out her knowledge of beauty could help her win her first big case.

Escape from Planet Earth

The last of the Netflix movies on the list is for the entire family. Escape from Planet Earth is an animated movie that sees an alien head to Earth to save his brother. When he’s caught too, he finds out that the people of Earth are using aliens for their own advantage. Now the brothers and the other alien captives need to figure out a way back to their home planets.
