A new month means Netflix is here to bless us with brand new content! It’s the father-son duo you never knew you needed as Concrete Cowboy is coming to Netflix on April 2, right after April Fools Day.

The highly anticipated Netflix original movie stars Caleb McLaughin who plays Cole and Idris Elba who plays his father, Harp.

We’ve been waiting for this urban-cowboy film to hit the streaming service and it’s finally here for all of us to enjoy.

What time is Concrete Cowboy coming to Netflix?

Concrete Cowboy, the highly anticipated Netflix original movie, is set to hit the streaming service at 12:01 a.m. PT on April 2.

You know what that means for all of you East Coasters. You’ll have to wait up to 3:01 a.m. EST if you want to be one of the first people to check out this film.

Watch the trailer for Concrete Cowboy below!

Just to give a little background on this film, it is based on a middle-grade novel called Ghetto Cowboy by G. Neri that is set in Philadelphia. It’s also based on the real-life Fletcher Street Cowboys.

A teenager, who is caught up in a life of crime and trouble, spends the summer with his father who lives an urban-cowboy culture lifestyle. It’s clear that Cole is not into his father Harp’s lifestyle. This clearly causes them to clash, but as time passes, Cole starts to warm up to this new lifestyle and that’s where more of this story unfolds.

I’m really excited for Concrete Cowboy for many reasons. One, this is Caleb McLaughlin’s first big role outside of Netflix’s hit show Stranger Things. We get to see McLaughlin take on the lead role and I expect nothing but his great acting to be on full display. Many doors will open up for him post Concrete Cowboy and, obviously, Stranger Things.

Secondly, Idris Elba. I mean, need I say more? Elba has been in many films and has stitched in name in Hollywood with films such as The Take, Takers, No Good Deed, Thor, Daddy’s Little Girls, and much, much more.

Concrete Cowboy is set to be one of Netflix’s biggest new releases so far in 2021, so we can expect a great movie to kick back and enjoy this weekend! And who knows, if the movie meets expectations there could be room for a sequel. But only time will tell with that.
