We finally have a release date for The Kominsky Method season 3. It’s been nearly two years since new episodes of the show streamed on Netflix, and fans have been waiting to hear of its return to the platform since its renewal last July. But the wait for the series conclusion is now over!
The comedy-drama created by Chuck Lorre is one in a list of Netflix shows taking their final bow in 2021. Unfortunately, the series is also going to be down a lead.
While Michael Douglas will be returning to the role of Sandy Kominsky—an aging actor whose brief time in the limelight helped shape his career as a Hollywood acting coach—Alan Arkin will not be returning as Norman Newlander, Sandy’s agent and best friend.
His absence will be a big part of The Kominsky Method season 3, so fans should prepare themselves to cope without his presence along with Sandy in the six episode finale of the series.
The Kominsky Method season 3 release date
Fans can expect the third and final season of The Kominsky Method to land Friday, May 28 on Netflix. That’s just in time for Memorial Day weekend for anyone who wants to relax and binge during the holiday. Perhaps you can even spend time with loved ones in your bubble enjoying the end of the series together.
What is The Kominsky Method season 3 about?
According to TVLine, season 3 of The Kominsky Method will be digging into Norman’s absence in Sandy’s life. Here’s the season’s summary:
In The Kominsky Method‘s six-episode farewell run, Sandy (played by Golden Globe winner and two-time Emmy nominee Michael Douglas) has to navigate what aging looks like without his longtime friend Norman by his side.
Life only becomes more complicated with the arrival of Sandy’s ex-wife Roz (new series regular Kathleen Turner). The pair’s famously volatile relationship is further inflamed when she comes to L.A. to spend time with their daughter Mindy (Sarah Baker) and her boyfriend Martin (Paul Reiser).
Additionally, discussions of death, dreams, love, money, and murder will be par for the course in the season. As the official synopsis quips, “In other words, the usual.”
We’ll keep you updated on news about the final season of The Kominsky Method and, as always, all things Netflix!
