Stranger Things season 4 is not coming to Netflix in April 2021

A long time ago, there was a very real possibility that Stranger Things season 4 would be released on Netflix in April 2021.

Immediately after seeing what happened in Stranger Things season 3, there was speculation about a specific event that happened in April 1986, which would be a few months (in show time) after the events of the season 3 finale. David Harbour even mentioned that season 4 was supposed to be released early this year. We thought that could have been anywhere from February to April 2021. But, the pandemic delayed season 4 production by, like, eight months, so that release date was quickly out of the question.

Netflix unveiled the list of new movies and shows coming in April. Unfortunately, Stranger Things season 4 is not on the list of the Netflix new releases for the coming month.

If you’ve been paying attention to what’s happening with Stranger Things season 4, you knew the new season would not be released on the streaming service in April. Production on season 4 is still happening, which means we’re not going to be seeing the new season anytime soon.

Stranger Things season 4 release date

This is what all Stranger Things fans want to know, but the sad part is that I don’t know if anyone really knows when the Stranger Things season 4 release date will be. There’s so much up in the air in terms of production, how much more time they need to have the season ready for editing, and then how much more time it takes to be released. If anything goes wrong, the release date will be delayed.

Everyone is hoping Stranger Things season 4 will be released in 2021, and I’m definitely among those who feel it will be. As long as production wraps by May or June, a late 2021 release date for the new season should be doable.

The longer production goes on, the longer we’ll have to wait for Stranger Things season 4 on Netflix. That’s the reality of the situation. We haven’t heard much recently, but according to Sherman Augustus, a new cast member in season 4, he expects the season will be released this year.

At this point, I’m expecting a November or December release date for the new season. That seems the most likely scenario right now.

That could change over the next couple of months, though. If there are delays or things take longer than usual, we could see Stranger Things season 4 pushed back to 2022. I don’t think anyone wants that to happen, but it’s possible given the landscape of TV production in the United States.
