Netflix announces The Kominsky Method season 3 release date

The Kominsky Method season 3 is coming to Netflix very soon!

Fans have been waiting for a really long time to see The Kominsky Method season 3, which is one of Netflix’s most popular and decorated original comedies.

Created by Chuck Lorre, The Kominsky Method premiered on Netflix in the fall of 2018. The second season premiered in the fall of 2019, and then we didn’t hear anything about the third season for a while.

Finally, Netflix renewed the series for a third and final season last summer. It’s one of many Netflix shows coming to an end in 2021.

The Kominsky Method season 3 release date

The Kominsky Method season 3 release date is scheduled for Friday, May 28, 2021, according to a report from TV Line.

Michael Douglas will be back in the third season as Sandy. Douglas will be joined by Kathleen Turner, Sarah Baker, and Paul Reiser in the final season of the Netflix original series. Alan Arkin, who starred as Norman in the first two seasons, will not be back for the final season, according to the report.

There are six episodes in the final season of the Netflix original.

TV Line is reporting the season largely revolves around the return of Sandy’s ex-wife, Roz, played by Turner, and that dynamic.

Why isn’t Alan Arkin in The Kominsky Method season 3?

We’ve known for a while that Arkin would not be in the final season of The Kominsky Method. At the time the third season was announced, it was mentioned that Arkin had never planned to be a part of the season.

It appears there was some speculation that Arkin wouldn’t be involved because of the pandemic. According to TV Line, that’s not true. It’s been reported that Arkin had planned to leave the series before the pandemic.

We don’t know why, exactly, Arkin chose to leave the series. It’d be great if Norman popped back up in the series finale or something like that, but it’s probably pretty unlikely that will happen.

We’ll let you know more about The Kominsky Method season 3 when we find out!
