Create customized high-tops with Millie Bobby Brown’s empowering collection with Converse

Powerhouse star from Netflix’s Stranger Things Millie Bobby Brown has released a new Millie by You collaboration of Converse shoes. She had previously done a collection with the brand a few years ago, but now she is back with a new range of high-top Converse All-Stars with the hopes to empower others. The young star has teamed up with illustrator Pauline Wattanodom to design the prints for the shoes.

The Millie by You collection features 11 styles of iconic high-top shoes that you can customize to fit your personality. Whether you want platform ($100) or regular height ($90), the price stays the same even when you personalize the shoe. Since this collection has come out during Women’s History Month, Brown and Wattanodom wanted to highlight women’s bonds in this collaboration.

“Millie and I both have a sister, so we wanted to use sisterhood to support the central concept of girl power. We want the girls who wear these shoes to feel confident about who they are and know that we girls will always support each other, like sisters,” Wattanodom says in an interview with Converse. The young creative has hand-drawn the interlocking pinkies design to show the concept “perfectly imperfect” beauty.

Since all the shoes are customizable, Brown was able to create a more open design concept. “I also wanted to incorporate colors that make me smile and make me feel good about being a girl—and not necessarily pink!” Brown says in an interview with Converse.

When customizing the shoe, you’ll be able to pick colors from the shoes’ canvas to the side stitching and rubber racing stripes. Even though the focus of the collection is on female empowerment, it is important to note all the shoes are unisex so that anyone can wear them.
