Keanu Reeves to produce and star in Netflix adaptation of his comic BRZRKR

Keanu Reeves and his team will create two adaptations of his graphic novel BRZRKR for Netflix, according to a report from Deadline. One will be a Netflix movie, while the other will be a Netflix original anime series.

Reeves is famous for his roles in mega-hits like The Matrix, John Wick and Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. He has been acting since the mid-80s, so his credits list is extensive.

At the beginning of March 2021, Reeves released the first issue of his limited release comic BRZRKR, and it has already sold over 600,000 copies. Deadline reports that this is a collaboration with bestselling writer Matt Kindt and illustrated by Marvel artist Ron Garney with colors by Bill Crabtree, letters by Clem Robins, and character designs and covers by Rafael Grampá.

BRZRKR is Reeve’s original idea of an immortal warrior who has been fighting for 80,000 years. His name is B, and he is half-mortal half-god. B has searched the world over, looking for answers about his existence. Now he has found refuge working for the US government doing the jobs that are too brutal for others to accomplish.

When is BRZRKR starring Keanu Reeves coming to Netflix?

The character BRZRKR looks similar to Reeves, so it only makes sense that he would portray this character in a live-action adaptation for Netflix. For a man who already stars in the John Wick films, this shouldn’t be too much of a stretch.

He will also be involved in an anime series that is also being developed. He will voice the character in the series, expanding the BRZRKR universe to follow different storyline elements.

Reeves has recently wrapped filming on Matrix 4 and will go on to film on John Wick 4, two movies his fans are anxious to see. In August 2020, Deadline reported that Reeves would actually film John Wick 4 and 5 back to back.

Fans of Reeves will have a lot to look forward to in the next couple of years with all of these projects on his schedule.

We have to imagine it will be at least a year before BRZRKR starts filming, which means it’ll probably be 2023 or even later until the movie is released.
