Netflix renews The Irregulars for season 2

The Irregulars premieres on Netflix on March 26, 2021, and it’s going to be one of the best Netflix shows of the month. We already have some good news to share with you about the future of the new Netflix original series.

According to a report from What’s on Netflix, The Irregulars season 2 is happening at Netflix! It appears Netflix has already ordered a second season of The Irregulars prior to the release of the first season. The report cites a recent Production Weekly list as the source of the renewal news.

Netflix has not confirmed the renewal news yet. Typically, we’re forced to wait a month or two until we find out if a series is coming back for another season on Netflix.

The series is set in the world of Sherlock Holmes and the supernatural. The Baker Street Irregulars are a group of young folk who solve crimes and mysteries. Sounds awesome, right?

When is The Irregulars season 2 coming out?

According to the report, The Irregulars season 2 is scheduled to start filming sometime this summer. Because pre-production is likely already started, things are looking good for a 2022 release date for The Irregulars season 2.

Had Netflix waited until after the season to order season 2, that could have pushed production out to the fall or even later, as we’ve seen with so many original series.

With production on season 2 starting this summer, we should see The Irregulars season 2 sometime in the spring or summer of 2022. In the past, we would have said that we’d have to wait about a year or a year and a few months until the new season would hit Netflix. That was pre-pandemic.

Things are taking a lot longer now with all the testing and safety protocols. So, it’s possible that we might have to wait a little longer to see the new season than we would have if things were back to normal.

So, for now, expect to see The Irregulars season 2 to be released in the spring or summer of 2022. And, of course, you can also expect there could be delays that would push the season back to the fall of 2022.

If all goes well, and that’s what we’re hoping for, we could see The Irregulars season 2 in the spring or summer of 2022.
