Is Pacific Rim: Uprising on Netflix? (where to watch the Pacific Rim sequel right now)

Even though the popular Pacific Rim spinoff anime Pacific Rim: The Black is on Netflix, sadly neither of the original two movies are available to watch on the streaming service right now.

The anime series is based on the two live-action movies that came before it. The original Pacific Rim arrived in 2013 with Guillermo del Toro at the helm, with the sequel, Pacific Rim: Uprising, arriving in 2018 directed by Steven S. DeKnight.

Pacific Rim 2 or Pacific Rim: Uprising stars Golden Globe winner John Boyega as Jake Pentecost, the son of Idris Elba’s character from the first flick Stacker Pentecost to lead a new generation of Jaeger pilots to take on a new Kaiju threat. Along for the ride in this action, packed thrill ride is Scott Eastwood, Caillee Spaeny, Adria Arjona, Jing Tian, Burn Gorman, and Charlie Day.

The Associated Press called Pacific Rim: Uprising “cheer-at-the-screen fun,” where they praised DeKinight’s directing along with Boyega and Spaeny’s performances, and Metro gave the film 4 out of 5 stars. There is no shortage of superbly designed Kaiju and Jaeger action in the Pacific Rim sequel.

Pacific Rim: Uprising is available to watch on Hulu
