Raising Dion season 2 release date, cast, trailer, synopsis and more

Raising Dion is officially coming back for season 2! And, now, fans are wondering when Raising Dion season 2 is coming to Netflix and more.

Netflix renewed the series for season 2 in January 2020. We were a little worried about the series as Netflix waited a while to announce the renewal.

It all worked out okay, though!

Below, we shared everything we know about the Raising Dion season 2 release date, cast, trailer, synopsis and more.

Raising Dion season 2 release date on Netflix

Raising Dion season 2 is getting closer to the release date on Netflix, but we’ll still have to wait quite a while to see the new season of the series on Netflix.

Raising Dion season 2 started filming in early 2021 in Atlanta after lengthy delays because of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to a new report from Deadline, production is finally underway.

What does this mean for the release date? Well, it’s very good that production has started. That’s a crucial step, but it still means there’s a long wait ahead for fans.

We’re expecting Raising Dion season 2 could be on Netflix by the fall of 2021. That’s the earliest we could expect to see season 2 on the streaming service, and it’s possible, if there are further delays, that season 2 won’t be released on Netflix until 2022. We know filming is taking a lot longer than usual for Netflix movies and shows because of the COVID-19 protocols.

Raising Dion season 2 cast

Finally, after months of waiting, the Raising Dion season 2 cast has been confirmed. According to a report from Deadline, Alisha Wainwright and Ja’Siah Young will be back for season 2 as series regulars, along with Sammi Haney, and Jazmyn Simon.

Deadline is also reporting Ali Ahn and Griffin Robert Faulkner will be series regulars in season 2, as well. Griffin Robert Faulkner, who played Brayden Mills in the first season. Remember what happened at the end of the first season? Yeah, not great!

Deadline also shared more casting details. Rome Flynn stars as Tevon Wakefield, Dion’s mentor and trainer; Josh Ventura stars as David Marsh, a VP at Biona, the crazy company where this mess started; Aubriana Davis stars as Janelle, a teen with powers; Tracey Bonner stars as Janelle’s mom, Simone Carr, according to the report.

We could see Michael B. Jordan and some of the other characters in the new season, as well, but they’ve yet to be confirmed.

Raising Dion season 2 trailer

We haven’t seen the Raising Dion season 2 trailer yet. We won’t see the trailer until production starts or a little while after. We may have to wait all the way until a few weeks before the season 2 release date until we see anything.

Raising Dion season 2 synopsis

Raising Dion season 2 synopsis has not been shared yet. We likely won’t see the synopsis until we see the trailer.

With that said, we have a pretty good idea what’s going to happen in season 2.

As we learned at the end of season 1, Dion was able to stop the Crooked Man, who happened to be Pat, played by Jason Ritter. Unfortunately, Dion was not able to defeat the energy that powers the Crooked Man and corrupted Pat. The final scene we see is Brayden, infected by that power, walking down the road.

My guess is that Brayden will target Dion in season 2 somehow. Maybe he will be a new classmate? It will be really interesting to see how the Crooked Man will get his revenge.

With the latest casting announcement, we know that Brayden will be back in a big role in season 2, which means our prediction about Brayden being the villain of the season is probably accurate. There will surely be more villains, though. That’s what always happens in a show like this.

We also know Dion has a new friend and mentor in Tevon, and it will be interesting to see how their relationship develops given what Pat did to Dion.

It’s also been confirmed that there’s another person with powers in the series, and that’s going to be Janelle, played by Aubriana Davis.

We’ll see what happens in Raising Dion season 2. Stay tuned for more news about the series.
