Be careful when committing to a binge-watch. You never know when Netflix will pull the rug out from under you and cancel your new favorite show. This is what trust issues are made of, and fans of The End of the F***ing World know it all too well. We can let Netflix off the hook for this one, since creator Charlie Covell decided to end the series when it felt right.

The End of the F***ing World, a UK co-production, centers on 17-year-old self-diagnosed psychopath James (Alex Lawther). He believes himself to be a psychopath due to his hobby of killing animals. When he grows tired of killing animals, he opts to move on to a human and sets his sights on Alyssa (Jessica Barden). One thing leads to another and the pair go on a road trip together and grow closer on the cross-country adventure.

The eight-episode first season premiered in October 2017, with the eight-episode second season following two years later in November 2019. The End of the F***ing World landed two Emmy Award nominations for its cinematography and won a Peabody Award in 2019. Despite its cult popularity and critical acclaim, the charming little show bowed out on its own terms, but it’s safe to say Netflix felt our pain on not seeing another season of this fan-favorite.
