What is Amybeth McNulty from Anne with an E doing now?

Anne with an E may have tackled some uncomfortable subjects, but the Netflix series star is branching out of her own typical character comfort zone after the show’s cancellation. In the wake of many canceled Netflix shows, Amybeth McNulty is now diving into the world of thriller with two new projects in the works.

Black Medicine, which has now wrapped production, follows a black-market medic who carries out illegal operations for the criminal underworld. But the delicate balance of her immoral dealings is tilted when the medic gives refuge to a young girl and must make the choice between breaking her medical oath or crossing her lawless and ruthless employers.

McNulty’s second project, Maternal, stars the young actor as 16-year-old Charlie McLeod, who is involved in a near-fatal car accident on the way to her father’s wedding. For a brief moment, Charlie dies on the table and reconnects with her deceased mother, Claire.

While Charlie survives, her mother has no intention of letting go of her daughter for a third time, believing Charlie was actually supposed to die.
