What is Timothy Olyphant of Santa Clarita Diet doing now?

Out of all the shows to be canceled on Netflix, a comedy series starring Timothy Olyphant with Drew Barrymore about a suburban family who tries to survive the mom’s transformation into a flesh-eating zombie seemed pretty low on the list. The Santa Clarita Diet had it all–romance, teen angst, suburban couple rivalries, Nazi murder, talking decapitated heads–what’s not to love?

Nevertheless, Netflix pulled the plug, but the show’s hilarious dad, Olyphant, can still be seen in upcoming productions, like The Starling. Directed by Theodore Melfi and starring Olyphant with Melissa McCarthy, Daveed Diggs and Skyler Gisondo, another Santa Clarita Diet star, The Starling follows the existential journey of Lilly (McCarthy) who, after suffering a loss, is visited by a combative Starling bird which taunts and attacks the grief-stricken Lilly.

On her journey to expel the Starling from its neighboring nest, Lilly rediscovers her own will to live and capacity for love.

Olyphant is also featured in an “Untitled” David O. Russell project. Currently being filmed, almost everything about this project is locked up tight, except for the fact that it’s a comedy starring Anya Taylor-Joy, Margot Robbie and John David Washington.
