Fate: The Winx Saga premiered on Netflix at the end of January 2021.

Shortly after the premiere, the new Netflix original series started popping up on the daily Netflix Top 10 lists. As fans finished the six-episode first season, fans started to wonder if The Winx Saga season 2 was happening.

The Netflix series is based on the animated series, Winx Club, and was developed by Brian Young.

Yes, there is. Netflix announced Fate: The Winx Saga season 2 is officially in the works. The streaming network recently renewed the teen drama for another season, according to a report from Variety.

Netflix also shared a message for fans on social media.

Overall, this renewal is a little surprising. I’m never really surprised when Netflix announces a renewal of a series after the first season. The bar for renewal gets higher, or so it appears, as Netflix shows go on.

But, this show seemed to miss the mark a little bit. There were definitely a lot of viewers tuning in, but I don’t know the percentage of those viewers who stopped after starting the series. That’s a metric Netflix has and pays a lot of attention to for new shows.

It’ll be interesting to see where the story goes in Winx Saga season 2. The first season seemed to lay the groundwork for the story to be built upon. I’m excited to see where things go in season 2 and how the show improves over time.

Variety is reporting there will be eight episodes in the new season. There were only six episodes in the first season.

According to the report, production begins on The Winx Saga season 2 in Ireland sometime later this year. The report didn’t mention any specific dates or time of year, so it’s going to be tricky to predict the Winx Saga season 2 release date on Netflix.

Based on what’s happening in the world of TV and movies, an early-ish renewal means the creative team and crew can get to work on the new season now, if they haven’t already. That will probably speed things up a bit.

For now, I would expect to see The Winx Saga season 2 on Netflix sometime in early 2022. Assuming everything goes well with production, which is basically a coin flip at this point. They should be able to have the season ready for a January-March 2022 release on Netflix.

That’s probably best-case scenario. If production takes longer than expected or there are delays, we’d expect The Winx Saga season 2 on Netflix in the spring or summer of 2022.
