We knew Lara Jean wouldn’t get into Stanford to go to college with Peter. Where would she end up going in To All the Boys 3?

Throughout the third movie, Lara Jean had a big decision to make. She had to decide which college she would go to. But it was more than that.

Usually, we pick schools based on the subject we want to do. Or we may pick the college based on location. Sometimes, it’s due to cost or it’s the sport we play. For Lara Jean, many of her college decisions were initially ruled by Peter’s college choice.

That was why she applied to Stanford. She wanted to go to college with him. And while it had a good literary program, it was clear that it was Peter going there that fuelled that decision. When she didn’t get into Stanford, she had to make her own choices.

Berkeley or NYU on To All the Boys 3?

While she didn’t get into Stanford, Lara Jean did get into two other colleges in To All the Boys 3. She got accepted into both Berkeley and NYU.

Of course, at first, she chose Berkeley. She only applied to NYU as more of a back-up choice to make her sister, Margot, happy.

Berkeley is about an hour away from Stanford. While they wouldn’t be at the same college, Lara Jean and Peter would be close enough to see each other at weekends.

Perfect, right? It all looked set.

And then Lara Jean went to New York on a school trip and fell in love with the city. On top of that, she learned NYU’s campus is right in the center of the city.

There were many other reasons to go to the school. With her passion for books, it made more sense to head to New York.

So, which college did Lara Jean choose? Did she follow a boy or did she follow what her heart really wanted? This was a good movie for young girls making a decision about their future. Lara Jean went to NYU in To All the Boys 3.
