22. Love

When a show is called Love, it pretty much has to be on a list of the best romance movies and shows on Netflix. Love stars Gillian Jacobs, Paul Rust, Claudia O’Doherty, Mike Mitchell, Chris Witaske, and Jordan Rock. All three seasons of the series are currently on Netflix.

The series follows Mickey, an alcoholic,  love addict, and compulsive liar, and Gus, an awkward guy who is prone to outbursts, is needy emotionally, and sometimes unaware of certain social cues. With these traits, you’d think they were complete opposites, but in Love, they are the main couple. What could go wrong, right?

They first meet at a store where Mickey’s trying to get a coffee but forgot her wallet. Gus is there and offers to pay for her and that’s the beginning of their relationship. They spend the whole day together but don’t end up meeting again until Mickey invites him to a party.

Unfortunately, while Gus was hoping to make a move, Mickey brushes him off once she finds out two of her exes are also at the party. The party does show Mickey that she needs to figure out what to do about her drinking.

After that, the two finally go on a date, but Mickey is worried because of her past experiences. Fortunately, as the night goes on, they open up and have a real date. But, well, and you probably guessed this, it doesn’t go as planned. Does anything with these two? And that’s just the first season!

If you’re looking for a dysfunctional romance and comedy, Love is the perfect show for you to watch this Valentine’s Day. All three seasons are currently on Netflix.
