Teen shows on Netflix: Mismatched

Rating TV-MA

Based on the book When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon, Mismatched is an Indian coming-of-age romantic drama web series.

Dimple Ahuja (Prajakta Koli) is a tech whiz and a gamer who’s not a fan of her parents pushing for an arranged marriage for her. She wants to focus on her career. When she gets accepted into the summer tech program at Aravalli Institute in Jaipur and her parents let her go, Dimple thinks her parents are finally listening to her about what she wants.

What Dimple doesn’t know, however, is that her parents allowed her to go because Rishi Singh Shekhawat (Rohit Saraf), a boy who’s shown interest in her, is going to be attending the program. Rishi’s smitten with Dimple and determined to show her that they can work as a couple. But with an internship on the line decided by whichever team develops the best app, Dimple has little time for romance even with her feelings for Rishi starting to take a turn the more they spend time together.

Dimple never wanted to choose between her dreams and love and perhaps with Rishi she won’t have to but ambition can blind anyone to the feelings of others it can even suppress their own.

Mismatched is rated mature for strong language, innuendo, references to sexual content, and drug/alcohol use.
