There is no question that fans of the exceptional drama series Dynasty are very excited to watch the fourth season now on Netflix, but many are very curious to learn what the future holds past that with Dynasty season 5. The CW has a pretty stacked library as it is, leaving some to ponder whether there is enough room for more episodes of the popular rebooted soap opera.

The fantastic fictional endeavor follows two of America’s wealthiest families as they fight over control of their children and their fortune. The show stars Elizabeth Gillies, Grant Show, and many more talented individuals who have been bringing these enticing characters to life on the small screen for four seasons, soon to be five, with the question still remaining as to when Dynasty season 5 will premiere.

Like most originals from The CW, Dynasty has been a big hit with Netflix subscribers. In the UK, the program ranked No. 5 on the list of most-watched series on the streaming service in May 2019, and its third season debuted as the No. 1 most-watched series on the service its first week of arrival in May 2020. So it’s no surprise subscribers of the popular streaming service are very eager to know when more entries will be available with Dynasty season 5.

Fans will be excited to learn that Variety reported that The CW ordered a ton of renewals for their programs, with so many great titles making the list. This includes Walker, Nancy Drew, Riverdale, Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash, and of course, Dynasty season 5.

Dynasty season 5 premiere date

On Nov. 5, 2021, The CW announced the premiere date for the fifth season of Dynasty, which arrived on Monday, Dec. 20 with a two-hour season premiere. However, on March 11, 2022, Dynasty will return to its usual timeslot on Fridays at 9 p.m. behind new episodes of Charmed season 4.

Dynasty season 5 episode 3 will premiere on Friday, March 11 with its official run of new season 5 episodes. New episodes will continue each Friday night, unless otherwise noted by the network.

Since The CW had designated Dynasty as a midseason premiere, we hadn’t expected season 5 much before 2022, but its premiere at the end of 2021 was a pleasant surprise. This allows for the season to stream on Netflix sooner than we expected sometime in summer 2022 at the earliest.

Dynasty season 5 Netflix release date

Currently, we’re estimating Dynasty’s latest season will start streaming on Netflix sometime in summer 2022, as mentioned above. Because the season contains 22 episodes and will run for 19 more after March 11, the season finale could air on The CW in July.

Of course, the date of the season 5 finale could air sooner or later based on the network’s scheduling choices, whether it’s a couple weeks of reruns or another two-episode airing. But we know for sure that season 5 will hit Netflix eight days after the televised finale.

Dynasty season 5 cast

Thankfully, over the past few seasons, the Dynasty cast has stabilized after becoming notorious for its revolving door of recastings, departures, and new characters. The season 5 main cast will lose Alan Dale and gain Eliza Bennett, with Elizabeth Gillies and Grant Show returning in their leading roles. Check out the full season 5 main cast here.

As hinted in the two-hour holiday premiere, Daniella Alonso will be pulling double duty as Cristal’s new evil doppelgänger, Rita. Also, Pej Vahdat joins the cast in a recurring role as Dex, who seems to have a game-changing presence in Alexis’s life.

Dynasty season 5 synopsis

In the two-hour season 5 holiday premiere, the Carringtons celebrated the holidays amid Fallon’s recuperation from being shot. Ultimately, she attempted to get back into the swing of things too soon and wound up in a coma due to an infection.

Dynasty will continue to navigate Fallon’s relationship with work as it impacts her marriage to Liam, and we’re clearly just getting started with whatever Beto has planned for Blake and Cristal. All in all, we’re in for another crazy season!

Check out the official synopsis for Dynasty season 5 episode 3 via The CW:

"Fallon (Elizabeth Gillies) is ready to jump head-first into her former life, much to Liam’s (Adam Huber) worry. Amanda (Eliza Bennett) discovers something that could help Alexis’ (Elaine Hendrix) case and recruits Kirby (Maddison Brown) for assistance. Meanwhile, Culhane (Robert C. Riley) creates a plan for his future as Kirby and Sam (Rafael de la Fuente) decide to help, much to his chagrin. As Jeff (Sam Adegoke) figures out his next steps, Fallon turns to Dominique (Michael Michele) to help with a work situation. Blake (Grant Show) throws the Carrington Gala and not all goes as expected."
