Not only are there countless rom-coms to enjoy on Netflix such as the To All The Boys and Kissing Booth franchise films, but there are equally as many great romantic Netflix shows for fans of the genre to enjoy as well.

Here is a list of all of the romantic Netflix shows based on books available as of February 2021!

Based on the books by Julia QuinnBridgerton tells the story of the eight children of the late Viscount Bridgerton and their unique journeys to finding love. Each book focuses on the love story of one of the various Bridgerton children with the first book in the franchise inspiring the first season Netflix show.

While we’ll have to wait to see how many seasons Bridgerton will run, fans can always get an early jump on the franchise by reading the Julia Quinn books which inspired the show.

Romantic Netflix shows based on books: Sweet Magnolias

A breakout series of 2020, Sweet Magnolias is based on the book series by Sherryl Woods which was first released in 2007. Across the eleven-book series, Woods tells the stories of best friends Maddie, Helen, and Dana Sue as they navigate small-town life and all the drama and romance it brings.

While the Netflix show is inspired by the books, it is worth noting the writers have taken some creative liberties by incorporating new storylines and characters into the show — so you won’t be able to get too many spoilers from reading ahead it seems.
