Charmed season 3 is just two episodes in, and there is already some great news. Charmed season 4 is officially happening on The CW.

The CW has historically been good for early renewals, but this is early even by The CW’s standard. Sure, not in terms of the month, but in terms of the number of episodes that have aired.

Because of its pandemic-proof programming, the fall shows have only just began. Most have had just two episodes, with some having no episodes at all. Yet, The CW has renewed its entire slate except for two freshman shows still to premiere, according to Variety.

That includes Charmed, which will return for a fourth season.

When will Charmed season 4 premiere?

Eyes are now on a premiere date. It’s going to be hard to say.

We still don’t know how many episodes will be in season 3. The CW wants a full season, but that doesn’t seem possible without running into the summer. That would push the summer shows to the fall and push the fall shows into 2022.

There are chances that the current season of shows will have about 16 to 18 episodes. That would be a little more doable, allowing filming for the fourth season to start in the summer and a premiere date sometime in the fall of 2021.

The great news about the early renewal, though, is planning. The writers can already get to work on setting up some season 4 storylines. In fact, the last episodes of season 3 can be reworked a little allowing for cliffhangers or for seeds to drop for season 4 storylines.

Eyes will also be on any potential spin-off storylines. So far, nothing has really been set up for that, but The CW has been on a spin-off kick recently, and there’s no doubt the universe of the new Charmed could create something. After all, there is more than one set of Charmed Ones in this universe.
