Best movies and shows leaving Netflix in February

February 2021 has a host of popular movies and shows leaving Netflix.

With the rise of new streaming services, it’s getting more likely that content won’t be cycling like in recent years on Netflix. With companies providing their own platforms for streaming – most recently Peakcock and Discovery Plus – it seems likely that when content leaves it’s gone forever.

Netflix recently shared the full list of new titles on Netflix, along with the list of shows and movies leaving the streaming service.

We shared the top five movies and TV shows to catch before they leave Netflix in no particular order.

1. A Walk to Remember

A classic romantic movie where an unwitting girl has a major effect on the bad boy, A Walk to Remember is a perfect film to watch during Valentine’s Day month with your significant other.

Jamie Sullivan (Mandy Moore) plays a high school girl who stars alongside Landon Carter (Shane West) who falls in love while she has terminal leukemia. The story follows a roller coaster of emotions including frustration, anger, pain, and sadness. The deeper meaning of the film provides context into a partnership rather than physical attraction.

As the story progresses, Landon finds love in how Jamie makes him a better person and drives him to do better. Be prepared with some tissues, a snuggle buddy, and a roller coaster of emotions while watching the film! Catch A Walk to Remember before it leaves the platform on Feb. 28.

2. Gran Torino

This 2008 Clint Eastwood film follows a Korean War veteran as he’s trying to save his community from a gang. Directed by Eastwood, the film tells the story of Walt Kowalski (Clint Eastwood), who recently lost his wife after 50 years of marriage and is watching his former, thriving Detroit neighborhood fall apart.

The movie follows Kowalski as he navigates the new normal and the relationship he forms with Thao Vang Lor (Bee Vang) and his family in his neighborhood. Gran Torino will be on the platform until Feb. 28.
