The Uncanny Counter renewed for season 2 at Netflix

After the first season capped off its successful run, becoming one of the highest-rated series in OCN history, the South Korean action-adventure fantasy Netflix original series has been renewed for another run. It’s no question that fans everywhere are more than excited to see what is set to go down in The Uncanny Counter season 2.

The record-setting endeavor based on the Daum webtoon Amazing Rumor by Jang Yi has become a chart-topping affair breaking into the streaming service’s daily top ten. Considering all its achievements, the outstanding first run should absolutely be at the top of everyone’s must-watch list before the next highly-anticipated chapter arrives.

The exceptional endeavor finished up its fantastic first season on Jan. 24, 2021, continuing its massive success in the ratings. There was some concern when they made a scriptwriter change after the 13th episode, but Kim Se Jeong calmed everyone’s nerves, indicating the show was not in jeopardy.

There was a lot of speculation as to whether or not there would be another outing of the hit Korean fantasy-action drama. Soompi reported the network was working on getting another chapter going with OCN responding, saying moves were being made, but nothing was confirmed at that time.

Is The Uncanny Counter season 2 happening?

The Uncanny Counter season 2 is officially happening at Netflix, leaving many fans of the Korean action fantasy series excited for more episodes.

After patiently waiting, fans finally have some clarity on the future of the well-received Netflix series. A member of the production team has issued a statement claiming that The Uncanny Counter season 2 is officially going to happen.

"“It’s true that season 2 of The Uncanny Counter will be produced. However, specific details such as the filming schedule and the release timing have yet to be confirmed. In addition, we are still coordinating specifics such as casting.”"

The Uncanny Counter season 2 will continue the story that follows So Mun, a disabled high school boy who ends up becoming a Counter, a member of a group of demon hunters who work in a noodle shop by day and fight escaped evil spirits from the afterlife hellbent on preying on humans. The entertaining endeavor stars Jo Byung-Gyu, Yoo Jun-sang, Kim Se-Jeong, and Yeom Hye-ran who will all most assuredly be back in action the next time around.
