Best shows on Netflix to watch this weekend

Bridgerton

This series is still topping the Netflix Top 10 list after its release almost a month ago. Bridgerton is a great series that allows you to escape from reality.

This series follows the Bridgerton family as they embark on “The Season” to find their sister a husband. Set in the Regency era, this series gives the viewer a taste of a life they will never experience.

It was announced this week that this series has been renewed for a second season that will focus on Lord Anthony, the eldest brother.

Be sure to listen to the soundtrack, as they have done a fantastic job of using pop songs in the Regency style.

Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer

Another popular series the true-crime series Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer.  This series follows the story of one of America’s most terrifying killers Richard Ramirez, dubbed “Night Stalker” by the press.

This series is from the POV of the people his crimes affected, the victims, reporters and law enforcement who arrested him.  His crimes terrorized the West Coast from 1984-1985 and it is believed that his crimes tally much more than he was able to be charged with.

The series has received some harsh reception from critics, but viewers love it. Be sure to check it out if true crime is your thing.

Henry Danger

The Nickelodeon superhero comedy Henry Danger has three seasons available on Netflix. The local superhero Captain Man needs an assistant and Henry is game for the job. He takes on the alias Kid Danger and secretly joins forces with Captain Man.

Henry gets to use all the cool gadgets and save the world. He must keep his identity a secret even from his best friends and little sister. The series stars Jace Norman, Cooper Barnes, Riele Downs, Sean Ryan Fox, Ella Anderson and Michael D. Cohen.

It is fun for the whole family series that the whole family can enjoy.

Lupin

A new Netflix original thriller premiered this month called Lupin. It is a French web series that follows Assane Diop (Omar Sy), an only child seeking revenge for his father’s death.

His father was set up for a crime he didn’t commit, which lead to his father’s suicide. Assane knows that his father’s former employer set him up for the crime. He gets his inspiration from Arsène Lupin’s adventures, a character created by Maurice LeBlanc, who is a gentleman thief and master of disguise.

This series is projected to surpass The Queen’s Gambit and Bridgerton to become Netflix’s top original popular series by reaching over 70 million homes in the first 28 days.

Daughter from another Mother

Viewers are binging this Mexican dramedy and already begging for a second season. Daughter from another Mother is the story of two women who, months after their children’s birth, discover their babies were switched at the hospital by mistake.

The mothers decide to go against the traditional family to create their own blended one. The two mothers are vastly different from their parenting skills to their overall personalities. The diversity of the two characters and the chemistry between the actors make this a binge-worthy series.

Enjoy your weekend and enjoy some great shows on Netflix.
