Walker will air on The CW, but will it come to Netflix?

Fans everywhere are excited to see Supernatural’s Jared Padalecki star in the brand new CW series Walker that is set to have its season premiere air tonight (Wednesday, Jan. 21) at 8 pm EST. The reboot of the show Walker, Texas Ranger has everybody talking, and many are wondering if the action crime drama will be coming to Netflix?

A lot of The CW shows do very well on Netflix, with subscribers watching them over and over again. Some of these big-time favorites include Riverdale, All American, Charmed, and, of course, Supernatural, so it’s understandable why they would all be keeping their fingers crossed that Walker will be available on the streaming service sooner rather than later.

What is Walker About?

Walker follows Padalecki’s character, Cordell Walker, a widowed father who returns to Austin after being gone for two years looking to reconnect with his children.  He’ll also have to overcome clashes with his family and learn to work with his new partner all while growing more and more convinced that something about his wife’s death does not seem right.

The CW show is created by Anna Frickle, whose credits include writing and producing programs like Dawson’s Creek, Everwood, and Being Human. Walker also stars Lindsey Morgan, Keegan Allen, Mitch Pileggi, Molly Hagan, and Coby Bell. Padalecki’s real-life wife Genevieve Padalecki makes a return to acting to play Emily, Cordell’s late wife.

Will Chuck Norris be in Walker?

Many fans of the original are probably wondering if the original Walker will show up in The CW’s reboot. Legendary action star Chuck Norris starred in the original show called Walker, Texas Ranger as Sergeant Cordell Walker, and it’s not unheard of for one of the former leads to make an appearance in the next chapter of the franchise’s legacy.

As of right now, there are no official plans for Norris to appear, and unless they are keeping it a secret, there is no way to know if the original will appear on the reboot. The former star of Walker, Texas Ranger, retired from acting after appearing in The Expendables 2 back in 2012, so the chances are kind of slim, but it would be pretty cool to see him pull off a badass cameo. Only time will tell.

Will Walker be on Netflix?

The news regarding whether or not Walker will be available on Netflix isn’t great for those who were looking forward to enjoying it on the streaming service. According to Deadline, after it finishes airing all of its freshmen episodes on the network, it will make it will join Batwoman, Katy Keene, The Republic of Sarah, and Nancy Drew on the WarnerMedia owned streaming service, HBO Max.
