Fate: The Winx Saga is coming to Netflix tonight
What time is Fate: The Winx Saga on Netflix?
The highly anticipated live-action adaptation of Winx Club, Fate: The Winx Saga, is finally here.
It’s fairy o’clock in Netflix land and the ones we grew up watching are here, more badass than ever. Netflix‘s live-action adaptation of Nickelodeon’s Winx Club i.e. Fate: The Winx Saga is coming at midnight tonight – Friday, January 22. Prepare for nostalgia.
The coming-of-age supernatural drama created by Iginio Straffi and Vampire Diaries‘ Brian Young stars Abigail Cowen as Bloom, Danny Griffin as Sky, Hannah van der Westhuysen as Stella, Elisha Applebaum as Musa, Freddie Thorp as Riven, Precious Mustapha as Aisha, Sadie Soverall as Beatrix, Eliot Salt as Terra, Theo Graham as Dane, Jacob Dudman as Sam, and Robert James-Collier as Silva, after the show faced some casting controversy during development. The series is going to run for six episodes.
So far, judging by the released trailers of the show, Fate: The Winx Saga looks like The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and The Vampire Diaries‘ love child. Magic and teen romance with a hint of darkness. Bloom is on a quest to discover some answers and her new friends at school are going to help her with it. However, if you’re expecting wings, glitter, and transformation like the original Winx Club, you’re going to be disappointed. Very disappointed. In fact, personally, I think if the names of the characters were different, I would never guess this is a Winx Club adaptation at all.
That being said, the show fits the general outline of hit Netflix shows for young adults and is most likely going to be a hit as well. And, according to the writer, they decided to ditch the general aesthetics of the cartoon to make the fantasy show look “realistic”. The irony.
