It appears we’re going to have to wait slightly longer than anticipated for The Flash season 7.

After deciding to go with a pandemic-proof fall line-up, The CW’s beloved series have gradually begun returning to the network’s lineup with the third week of January bringing with it the returns of series such as Batwoman, All American, Riverdale, Nancy Drew, and Charmed. The plan then being for the network’s additional series to begin settling back into the schedule in February with the premieres of Black Lightning, The Flash, and Superman and Lois.

Originally, The Flash season 7 was set to kick off on Tuesday, Feb. 23 as the lead-in to The CW’s latest Arrowverse offshoot, Superman and Lois. However, it seems The CW has now changed course and has announced Superman and Lois will premiere on Feb. 23 with a 2-hour premiere event consisting of a special 90-minute premiere followed by a 30-minute “Legacy of Hope” special.

As a result, The Flash season 7 premiere has been unexpectedly bumped from the schedule and will no longer premiere on Feb. 23 as expected.

When does The Flash season 7 premiere?

Since announcing the Superman and Lois 2-hour event, The CW has yet to confirm what the move will mean for The Flash. Rather than confirming a new premiere date, the bio on the show’s social media page instead simply teases that Season 7 is “Coming Soon.”

While it is possible The Flash season 7 might still premiere in February, it’s now looking likely that the new season of The CW’s longest-running superhero drama won’t begin until March 2021.

More than likely, we could be looking at a short delay as a March 2, 2021 premiere date seems to be an early favorite; however, it’s also possible the series might be held back even further similar to how The CW is holding the new seasons of Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow for a yet to be announced date.

Once a premiere date has been confirmed, we’ll update this piece but in the meantime, it’s off to Netflix to rewatch our favorite episodes of The Flash as we await the show’s return.

Update: As previously speculated, The CW has confirmed The Flash season 7 will now premiere on Tuesday, March 2 — putting the premiere out one week after the originally announced date.
