Are you ready for a good scare in 2021? (Emphasis on the “good.”) Before long, it will be time to clear out some space in your watch list for a Goosebumps-adjacent trilogy of horror films on Netflix. Based on the book series of the same name by Goosebumps author R. L. Stine, Fear Street centers on a group of teenagers in 1994 as they uncover the truth about past horrifying events in their small town of Shadyside, Ohio could all be connected. Soon, the teenagers realize that they may be the next targets of the hauntings and work to get ahead of the inevitable fear.

The Fear Street trilogy, originally intended for release in summer 2020 by Disney, was ultimately acquired by Netflix and pushed back at least a full year. Although an official release schedule has yet to be announced, it’s estimated that each of the three films will drop within a month of each other in the summer of 2021. No matter when the decade-hopping trilogy of horror films make their way to Netflix, they will without a doubt be a can’t-miss movie event. Keep a lookout for what could be the next great horror franchise when Fear Street makes a triple premiere this year.
