We’ll take whatever Netflix will give us this year, and luckily, 2021 is already chock full of binge-worthy Netflix original shows and viral-hit-in-the-making new Netflix movies. From new seasons of your favorite shows to new premieres you’ll be talking about all year, it’s all happening in 2021 on Netflix.

To kick off the year, Netflix released a slate of new movies and shows in January, including the likes of Cobra Kai, Pieces of a Woman, The Dig and more.

The first quarter of the year provides shows like Firefly Lane and movies like Malcolm & Marie while we continue to wait for fan-favorites Stranger Things, Outer Banks, Dead to Me and Lucifer to make our year complete. Even though the movie release slate has been chaotic and unpredictable over the last year, and will continue to be so for the foreseeable future, we can still count on Netflix to deliver brand-new original movies. Jason Momoa stars in Sweet Girl as Cooper, a heartbroken widower with only the prospect of seeking justice to those who had a hand in the death of his wife. With his new goal in mind, Cooper must also keep those he loves safe, namely his daughter, Rachel (Isabela Merced). The film comes from writer-director Brian Andrew Mendoza and also stars Marisa Tomei as a U.S. Senator as well as other familiar faces from Netflix and beyond.
