Outside the Wire

We start with the big action movie that dropped yesterday. Outside the Wire stars Anthony Mackie as an android police officer who teams up with a drone pilot to into a war zone. There’s one thing: nobody can know that Mackie’s character is an android.

Their mission is to stop a nuclear attack. Just how will the drone pilot react when he learns who (or more like what) he’s working with?

In this Peter Pan story, our boy who never wanted to grow up is all grown up and has a family of his own. However, the Lost Boys need him, and he’s thrown back into the world of Neverland. Can he face off against his greatest nemesis, Captain Hook?

Penguins of Madagascar: The Movie

Want something else for the kids? There are a few must-see movies on Netflix this weekend. Penguins of Madagascar: The Movie is one of the top picks. It follows the penguins from the Madagascar movies, and they have a mission of their own they need to carry out.

Skipper, Rico, Kowalski, and Private will join with a secretive crime-fighting organization known as The North Wind. They need to work together to prevent Dr. Octavius Brine from destroying all penguins around the world. This time it really is a matter of life or extinction.

Radium Girls

You may have heard of the Radium Girls, the real women who contracted radiation poisoning while painting watch dials with self-luminous paint. Or maybe you haven’t. You see, their deaths have been forgotten due to other events at the time, but it was these women who helped to bring safer working conditions for hundreds and thousands of others.

Radium Girls tells the true story of these women who realized their workplace was making them sick. On top of that, their workplace knew all about radiation poisoning and tried to cover up as much as possible. The movie follows the story of women who would sue their employer to help change the world.

The Intouchables

If you’re in the mood for a dramedy, you’ll want to turn your attention to The Intouchables. This French movie is about a Driss, a man who simply wants to turn up to an interview to get turned down. The idea is that he gets to keep his welfare benefits. However, the job he is interviewing for is for a live-in caregiver for a wealthy quadriplegic man, and he’s offered the job.

And so starts the journey of two men from different walks of life becoming great friends. Driss may not have initially wanted the job, but he realizes he is good at it. It’s a touching story based on truth, and is more than worth the time to watch.
