At Brakebills, Dean Fogg needs some help. There are more people with rarer powers, and he needs someone who can teach them. Surely Penny can help, right?

SYFY made the sad decision to cancel the series partway through. The Magicians season 5 was never intended to be the last, but there is some good news that comes with it.

All previous seasons ended with major cliffhangers for the group to figure out. That isn’t the case with the fifth season. While it wasn’t intended to be the last, the creators had a feeling that this could happen. Instead of leaving the show on a major cliffhanger, the creators chose to wrap the majority of storylines up.

There was content for a sixth season, but the season finale does at least work as a series finale.
