What happens to Yasmine in Cobra Kai season 3?

You may also know Yasmine in Cobra Kai as “Front Wedgie”

She may have been one of the antagonists in the first season, but where was Yasmine (Annalisa Cochrane) in Cobra Kai season 2? After Aisha (Nichole Brown) gave the “It” girl of West Valley High a social status-checking front wedgie in front of everybody at the lake party in season 1, we don’t see Yasmine in Cobra Kai again until season 3. Turns out that wedgie had something to do with it.

And just for the record, Yas totes deserved it. Aisha tolerated a lot of Yas’s bullying, but by the time of the beach party, Aisha was done. Plus, she had confidence after joining Cobra Kai. Or “her karate gang” as Yasmine called it. When Yasmine dissed them, that was the final straw that made Aisha snap, and it was hilarious.

It was also clear that Yasmine wasn’t going to be much of a threat to anyone going forward. She may have been a mean girl, but she physically couldn’t intimidate anyone and therefore had no power over them.

When Tory (Peyton List) came along in season 2, it was also pretty clear there was an even meaner girl in town. She made Yasmine look like the laughable, high-maintenance prima donna that she was…even though Yasmine wasn’t in Cobra Kai that season.

Yas returns in season 3, though, after spending the summer in Paris. She comes back somewhat reinvented. She’s still stylish and as stuck up and prissy as ever, but something’s changed. She’s actually a little more humble and even compassionate.

Because Demetri (Gianni DeCenzo) is smart and can help her get better grades, she teams up with him on a project…until Hawk (Jacob Bertrand) smashes it. She tells Demetri he’s of no use to her anymore.

After a run-in with the Cobra Kais, Demetri ends up with a broken arm. Making matters worse, Kyler (Joe Seo) draws a huge phallic symbol on his cast.

Thanks to her front wedgie debacle, Yasmine has a new appreciation for what it feels like to be a laughingstock. She ends up taking pity on Demetri. Because she’s still the most popular girl in school, she uses her influence to write something witty on his cast to up his cool factor.

But what ends up happening is they fall for each other. Screen Rant put it best when they summed up the unlikely couple as “a great source of comedy.” They totally are.

I was happy to see Yasmine back in Cobra Kai season 3 because it seemed odd she wasn’t in the second season. But it was even more fun to see her come back as a comedic character.

And it’ll be interesting to see where her and Demetri’s relationship goes in season 4.

For now, we can enjoy the first three seasons of Cobra Kai on Netflix.
