Riverdale season 5: (Spoiler) and (Spoiler) are not together
Are Archie and Veronica together in Riverdale season 5?
We have some bad news for some Riverdale shippers but not all. One of the most popular couples in the series are not together in Riverdale season 5. In fact, one of these characters is, gulp, married, and we just found out who they will be married to.
There are mild spoilers for Riverdale season 5 below!
Archie and Veronica are no longer together in Riverdale season 5. Deadline has confirmed the news by announcing the casting of Veronica’s husband. Chris Mason has joined the cast of Riverdale season 5 as Chad Gekko, a Wall Street banker.
According to the report, Gekko is threatened by Archie and his friendship with Veronica. Oh, this is going to be so good!
I have a ton of questions about this. I think we all knew that this is where Varchie was headed after what happened at in Riverdale season 4 between Betty and Archie.
The new season features a major time jump, which brings these characters into adulthood.
Veronia was always going to end up with this type of a guy. Chad Gekko is the perfect character name, too, for who this guy is going to be. Based on what we know about the new season, I’m not so sure Chad is going to be sticking around long in Riverdale if you are picking up what I’m putting down.
I’m still not convinced that Archie and Veronica are not endgame. I think there’s a case to be made that these two will, in fact, be together at some point. Chad sounds quite awful, and we know how strong Veronica is. Maybe this is just part of their arc to eventually be together? That’s what Varchie shippers will be hoping for.
And, I’m not even sure we can rule out Barchie at this point, given the events of Riverdale season 4.
Things are about to hit the fan in Riverdale season 5, and I can’t wait to see what happens.
Riverdale season 5 premieres on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021. The new season will be added to Netflix US later this year. We’ll let you know when that is going to happen when we find out more information.
