Is Elisabeth Shue in Cobra Kai season 3?
Did Ali visit Johnny and Danny on Cobra Kai season 3?
As fans waited for Cobra Kai season 3 to drop on Netflix, there was one big question: would Elisabeth Shue reprise her role as Ali?
The end of season 2 set up the hopes and rumors. After finally getting himself set up in the modern world, Johnny Lawrence got on Facebook. That led to him getting a Facebook friend request from Ali Mills Schwarber.
Only, Johnny didn’t know that. We left the season on this cliffhanger, wondering when Johnny would find out that his high school ex-girlfriend wanted to friend him when Daniel had made it clear that she never sent him a friend request.
It opened the door for Ali’s return. So, would Elisabeth Shue take the time to return?
Elisabeth Shue appeared on Cobra Kai season 3 for two episodes
It turns out the request to be on Cobra Kai happened while Shue was filming The Boys, according to an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
She met with the three co-showrunners and agreed to wait for them to figure out a way to put Ali into the story. That came with season 3, which was filmed in 2019, and meant that Shue (and everyone else) kept this huge secret for all this time.
Ali returned for a two-episode arc after initially messaging Johnny on Facebook a few episodes earlier. It was a way to end the rivalry between Johnny and Danny. After all, the rivalry arguably started because of her, so it was only fitting that it ended because of her.
Now the two karate masters could team up. I won’t share why or how to avoid major spoilers.
Ali isn’t sticking around, though. After a near-kiss with Johnny and some tearful goodbyes, Ali went back home. Her work was done.
Cobra Kai season 3 is available to stream on Netflix.
