The time has almost come, Zac Efron fans. This hit romantic comedy starring the A-list actor is finally making its Netflix debut tonight. How exciting, right? Technically, the movie will officially drops at 12:00 a.m. PT / 3:00 a.m. ET on January 1. With that in mind, there’s no time like the present to take what little time we have left and get ready to watch. So let’s!

What is 17 Again about?

As we previously reported, 17 Again initially premiered in theaters in 2009. It was directed by Burr Steers, and Jason Filardi wrote the wacky and witty script.

If you’re unfamiliar with the 2009 rom-com, here’s the premise.

Rotten Tomatoes describes the plot as:

"Mike O’Donnell (Matthew Perry) was a high-school basketball star with a bright future, but he threw it all away to marry his girlfriend and raise their child. Almost 20 years later, Mike’s marriage has failed, his kids think he’s a loser, and his job is going nowhere. He gets a chance to correct the mistakes of his past and change his life when he is miraculously transformed into a teenager (Zac Efron), but in trying to fix his past, Mike may be jeopardizing his present and future."

Rated PG-13, the Rotten Tomatoes Critics Consensus notes that this coming-of-age comedy is “sweet” and “poignant” with “just enough Zac Efron charm” to result in a “harmless, pleasurable teen comedy.” And they’re not wrong about that!

Adding to its teen-friendly appeal, 17 Again actually has a pretty talented, hilarious, and charming cast to boot, joining everyone’s favorite high school heartthrob.

Matthew Perry stars alongside Efron in a lead role. Leslie Mann, Thomas Lennon, Michelle Trachtenberg, Sterling Knight, and The Office‘s Melora Hardin all take on key roles for the film as well, to name a few very famous faces.

In the mood for something else starring the beloved actor while you wait to watch 17 Again? You should definitely check out Down to Earth with Zac Efron on Netflix right now and thank me later. It’ll be the perfect start to your Efron movie marathon.

Happy streaming, friends!
