Floor Is Lava, Netflix shows in danger

Floor is Lava

Network: Netflix

Number of Seasons: One

Why We’re Concerned: Floor is Lava quickly managed to get fans talking with its release in July 2020; however, it’s been radio silence on Netflix’s end since its release.

Final Verdict: Although Netlflix has not confirmed plans for a second season, the producers of the series seem optimistic and are even floating around spinoff ideas for younger competitors.

Legends of Tomorrow

Network: The CW

Number of Seasons: Six; Season 6 to premiere in 2021.

Why We’re Concerned: 2020 has not been kind to the Arrowverse! Months after the series finale of Arrow, The CW shocked fans by announcing plans to bring two additional Arrowverse titles to an end in 2021 with the cancellations of Supergirl and Black Lightning. With new superhero series such as Stargirl and Superman and Lois joining the network’s schedule and additional DC TV series in the works, could Legends of Tomorrow be the next Arrowverse series to take a final curtain call?

Final Verdict: While things have been grim for Arrowverse fans, we question whether The CW would choose to end three of the franchise’s flagship shows in one year. Although not out of question, it seems unlikely the Legends will join Supergirl and Black Lightning in taking a final bow in 2021.

Raising Dion

Network: Netflix

Number of Seasons: One

Why We’re Concerned: Sure, Raising Dion was renewed at the top of 2020 for a second season; however, as Netflix has shown us in recent months renewals can be easily reversed. If an acclaimed series such as GLOW couldn’t even get a final season because of production delays, we can’t help but fear Raising Dion could join the list of Netflix shows renewed only to be canceled due to pandemic-related delays.

Final Verdict: All signs currently indicate Netflix is intent on proceeding with a second season, so we can only hope they chart ahead and don’t change course.
