13. Work It

Director Laura Terusso’s jukebox dance comedy film Work It is without a doubt one of 2020’s best and offers up a toe-tapping good time for Netflix subscribers every step of the way. Grammy award-winning artist Alica Keyes serves as one of the talented producers on the film, which debuted as the most-watched film the weekend it premiered and stayed in the top ten the following week. The chart-topping affair features a skilled cast that proves they have the right moves every chance they get.

Work It follows Sabrina Carpenter’s character Quinn Akerman who dreams of going to the college her late father went to, Duke University. In an attempt to enhance her chances of getting in, she lies about being part of her high school’s dance team, and in order to get into Duke, she forms a ragtag group of misfit dancers and attempts to take on and beat the best squad in school. The significant factor standing in her way is that she needs to learn how to dance on top of everything else. This side-splitting, heart-felt film should hold a high spot on anyone’s watch list that still hasn’t witnessed how much fun this flick is to watch.
