5. The Half of It

Everyone agrees that The Half of It is easily one of the best Netflix comedy movies of 2020, and some would argue that it is a robust contender for achieving the status of one of the best movies of the year overall. On top of that, the film also retrieved the Founders Award for Best Narrative Feature at the 2020 Tribeca Film festival.

The Half of It can best be described as a modern loose retelling of Cyrano de Bergerac. The story follows a smart teen who writes a love letter for a popular guy only to fall for the girl he has a crush on. Alice Wu’s movie is a triumph and is undoubtedly an exceptional Netflix film that everyone should not sleep on.

6. Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga

Everyone knows that Will Ferrell is comedy gold, and Rachel McAdams is one of the most talented actresses in the game today. So it wouldn’t be crazy to imagine that the two of them teaming up in Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga would result in one of the year’s best comedies from Netflix.

The hilarious story follows aspiring musicians Lars and Sigrit, who are finally given a chance to achieve their dreams when they are given the opportunity to compete in the world’s biggest song competition. The movie has been well-received by subscribers debuting at number one its first week and solidifying its status as one of 2020’s best.
