5 must-watch movies on Netflix this weekend: The Midnight Sky and more
The Midnight Sky is one of the must-watch movies on Netflix this weekend
The weekend after Christmas is one of the best times to relax. You get to eat leftovers, snuggle up together as a family, and just watch some of the must-watch movies on Netflix at the time.
This weekend is certainly time for that. But there are so many great movies from throughout the week, right? And there are some big movies leaving the streaming service during the upcoming week.
We’ve got you covered with the must-watch movies on Netflix this weekend.
The Midnight Sky
For those who love a good post-apocalyptic movie, The Midnight Sky is the newest on the block. Starring George Clooney and Felicity Jones, the movie follows a man and his daughter as they head to a remote location in the hope of contacting astronauts in space.
Those astronauts have no idea that something catastrophic has happened on Earth. The scientist can’t let them land without all the information they need to survive. But it’s a fight for his own survival and that of his daughter just to get to the remote location.
After We Collided
If you loved the movie After and you enjoy the book series the movies are based on, you’ll want to check out After We Collided, which is now on Netflix.
The movie picks up with Tessa and Hardin breaking up. However, they still have feelings for each other, and they constantly find themselves wrapped up in each other’s worlds. When Tessa starts a new job, though, she ends up having feelings for someone else.
Now Tessa needs to figure out how she really feels. Which boy does she want to be with?
Jingle Jangle
There are plenty of Christmas movies still to watch. One that is great for the entire family is Jingle Jangle. It’s one of the newer movies that you may not have quite got around to yet.
There are plenty of lessons to learn in this movie, making it one of the must-watch movies on Netflix for the weekend. It’s all about courage, of dreams, of fears, and of love.
Oh, and there’s plenty of music. If you have younger children, this will keep them engrossed the whole time.
Back to the Future
We end with two movies that are leaving Netflix during the next week. Both are leaving on New Year’s Eve, so this is the perfect weekend to watch them. The three Back to the Future movies are leaving the streaming service. We don’t know where they’re going just yet or how long it will be before they’re back on Netflix.
It’s time to sit down with the kids and put on the three movies. Make a whole weekend event out of them. Yeah, you’ve got a couple of extra movies on the list to watch! Who doesn’t love Marty McFly’s trips to the past and future?
The Witches
A great movie for the kids is The Witches. No, not the version that has just come out in theaters, but the 1990 movie starring Anjelica Huston as the evilest witch of them all.
When a young boy stumbles upon a group of women gathering for a convention, he initially thinks nothing of it. Then he realizes they are all witches, and they are enacting a plan to get rid of all children forever. He needs to save the day, but how can he do that as a mouse?
