There are more musical numbers on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 4

There is still one more part of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina to come. Jaz Sinclair and Lachlan Watson tease what’s in store, including more musical numbers.

Part of the Fright Club, Jaz and Lachlan play Ros and Theo respectively. They’re both extremely important in Sabrina’s life, risking their lives for her just as she has done for them. How will it all end for the two?

We don’t get all the answers. What we can do is share the teases the two offered during a virtual press day.

More musical numbers to come

The initial tease was all about the musical numbers to come. These have been a lot of fun for viewers from the beginning, and it turns out the numbers happened because of the singing on set.

The cast is always singing and dancing, with Jaz having a lot of great things to say about Lachlan’s voice. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina creator, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa noticed the singing and wrote that into the show.

Lachlan shared that this one thing is something that makes Roberto such a great showrunner. He serves the actors, keeping an eye on what goes on off-screen to see how he can use it onscreen. If two actors have great chemistry together or their acting styles will match, he’ll put them together in more scenes.

While Jaz only teased that the new episodes would have more musical numbers, Lachlan shared these scenes will “be wilder.” The whole cast goes “all out” in their performances.

And it’s not just been the singing that Lachlan loves. They shared that learning new things with their current skills has been something they’ll miss from the series. Lachlan now plays the drums and Jaz now plays the bass, all because of the series.

The music from the show is now on Spotify, which amazes Lachlan. “It’s so cool,” was a phrase routinely uttered by both stars when talking about the musical numbers and the experiences on set.

Plenty of challenging aspects from Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

Every show has its challenges. Some actors seem to have more challenging scenes or storylines than others. However, the entire cast of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina seems to have had challenging moments to deal with.

For Lachlan, there isn’t just one particular moment that stands out as challenging. For them, it’s about the different experiences and emotions. A love scene is challenging because of the vulnerability they need to bring to the moment. A scene with a lot of lines coming off a long night shoot is difficult for its own reasons.

Would they change anything about the show? Definitely not! Lachlan will take the easy and the challenging because they learned something from it all. The challenging scenes helped them dive into another part of themselves as an actor:

“Roberto saw where we needed a little bit of confidence or a little bit of a boost. It was just this subtle, psychological thing where I learned a lot of what I needed to learn, whether it was purposeful or not. So I feel really grateful for the challenging scenes just as much as the easier one.”

Jaz shared she had two most challenging moments from the whole of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, with the first being the time of Sabrina’s coronation when the Fright Club had to do nothing but remain part of the show.

“There’s a big scene, lots of words, and the Fright Club didn’t do s**t all day. Standing there and staying engaged in such a long scene…when you’re working 12-14 hours days and it’s the whole day for the scene. I was particularly antsy that day, so that was tough.”

Her second most-challenging moment was when she had to play a blind character. She shared how she felt naked without the use of her eyes, as actors use their eyes for so much.

Lachlan teases the incubus

There is no way we could go an interview without asking about the incubus. We get a glimpse of that during the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Part 4 teaser trailer, and it turns out the yellow eyes are not contacts. Lachlan was looking forward to wearing the contacts only to find out the yellow would be added with CGI, and while they weren’t happy about it, they are happy with the outcome in the teaser.

The supernatural isn’t something Theo gets involved a lot with during the series, usually being part of the clean-up crew. Getting to play this role was so much fun for Lachlan, and we can’t wait to see it all play out on the screen.
