There are 18 new Netflix movies and shows coming this week

It’s the week of Christmas! With how difficult this year has been, it’s definitely an accomplishment that we made it this far. Besides the holidays, there are a bunch of new movies and shows coming to Netflix this week to keep us entertained while we open our presents and eat cookies.

Whether you’re looking for a new show based on a popular book series, a new space movie, or a new kid’s movie from Robert Rodriguez, Netflix has something for everyone.

The much-anticipated Bridgerton series hits Netflix on Friday, Dec. 25. The show is based on the book series by Julia Quinn and stars Adjoa Andoh, Julie Andrews, Jonathan Bailey, Ruby Barker, Jason Barnett, Sabrina Bartlett, Joanna Bobin, and Harriet Cains. The series follows the Bridgerton family during Regency-era England as they deal with love, gossip, and scandal. This is the perfect thing to watch on Christmas Day!

More in the mood for something a little more futuristic? The Midnight Sky is coming to Netflix on Wednesday, Dec. 23. The film follows a scientist named Augustine who is stuck in the Arctic in a post-apocalyptic world. He’s on a mission to stop a group of astronauts from returning to Earth which is going through some kind of global disaster. The movie stars George Clooney, Felicity Jones, David Oyelowo, Kyle Chandler, Tiffany Boone, Caolinn Springall, and Sophie Rundle.

Looking for something the whole family can watch? You definitely need to check out We Can Be Heroes when it comes to Netflix on Friday, Dec. 25. Directed by Robert Rodriguez, a group of kids must save the world’s superheroes after they are taken by alien invaders. Luckily, the kids have their own superpowers to help them defeat the attackers.

This new movie stars Pedro Pascal, Taylor Dooley, Priyanka Chopra, YaYa Gosselin, Christian Slater, and Boyd Holbrook.

This week, you can also watch ariana grande: excuse me, i love you on Monday, Dec. 21 and The Magic School Bus Rides Again In the Zone on Saturday, Dec. 25.
