7. Christmas Party (season 2 episode 10)

Almost every series has at least one Christmas episode, but they aren’t always the most memorable or written all that well. That was not a problem on The Office. They had some of the best holiday episodes and they actually furthered already existing storylines instead of just being a one-off like these types of episodes often are on other series.

In “Christmas Party”, the office engages in a Secret Santa gift exchange. Jim (of course) gets Pam’s name and puts his heart and soul into the gift for her (including a personal letter). Michael (of course) goes over the top and buys a $400 iPod for Ryan when they are only supposed to spend $20.

But, when Michael only gets a homemade oven glove, he decides to switch up the Secret Santa rules and wants everyone to switch gifts. This causes all kinds of chaos and Pam ends up swapping her teapot from Jim for the iPod. Dwight ends up with the teapot much to Jim’s horror.

Luckily, Pam swaps gifts once Roy tells her he was going to get her an iPod and ends up with the teapot. While she does get the gift Jim meant for her, he hides the very personal letter to her in his back pocket.

Michael, finally realizing he pretty much messed up the holiday party, goes out and buys booze for the whole staff leading to Meredith getting drunk and exposing herself to him. It’s certainly a holiday party to remember.
