What is the Stranger Things surprise on December 18?

There’s a big Stranger Things surprise coming to Netflix soon!

No, unfortunately, it’s not the Stranger Things season 4 release date. Well, I mean, they could announce it during the game, or they could share a clip of season 4 or something like that. But, that’s not the big announcement.

The big surprise is that the cast of Stranger Things is playing DnD on Friday, Dec. 18, according to IGN. It looks like David Harbour, Natalia Dyer, Gaten Matarazzo, and Finn Wolfhard (and possibly more of the cast) will all be playing Dungeons & Dragons to save Christmas!

If you’re around on Friday, Dec. 18, at 10 a.m. PT, you should check out the cast playing D&D on the Stranger Things YouTube Channel.

Check out the announcement below.

D&D plays such a huge part of Stranger Things. The first time we meet Will, Mike, Lucas and Dustin, they are playing D&D. We see them make numerous references to the game, and the way they perceive the world around them and everything that’s happening is through D&D.

Will didn’t get to play D&D enough in season 3, and it was a big deal in upsetting the Party’s morale during the season.

Well, we’ve been promised more D&D in the series, and it looks like we’re going to get it. We’ll see the cast playing on Friday, but we’ll also get to see the characters playing much more D&D in Stranger Things season 4.

We don’t know a lot about the fourth season, but we did learn that The Hellfire Club is the Hawkins High D&D club, and it will have a big impact on the series. It looks like Dustin is a member, which likely means that Mike and Lucas are members, as well. Will lives in another town, remember?

And, we also learned Eddie Munson, played by Joseph Quinn, is going to play a big role in the season, along with more new characters.

On Stranger Things Day, the series released the first footage of season 4 set in the US, and it’s of dice rolling over an epic D&D board.

Don’t miss the Stranger Things cast playing D&D on Friday, Dec. 18!
