7. That red wire prank

At the beginning of the “Prince Family Paper” episode of The Office’s fifth season, Jim proves that not every prank needs to be an elaborate con with several moving parts. Sometimes all you need is a large 500 ft. spool of red wire that costs $20 from a flea market and the courage to scale a nearby telephone pole. Dwight quickly notices the extra wire attached to his work computer.

Paranoia sets in immediately, causing him to frantically follow the wire all the way to a telephone pole outside, which he climbs, looking to get to the bottom of this odd mystery. Jim sits back in the conference room, reassuring the audience that if he made it up there, Dwight should be just fine.

8. Trading him Magic Beans

The seventh season’s nineteenth episode saw The Office have a giant garage sale in the warehouse for the workers to get rid of some things they no longer needed. Of course, Jim saw this as yet another opportunity to prank Dwight, showcasing his unbridled commitment to the craft. Schrute considers himself a master tradesman and begins making deals with everyone getting better stuff every time.

He keeps coming across some beans that Jim received in jamaica under mysterious conditions throughout the day. After seeing Jim destroy them and then having them reappear, Dwight must have Professor Copperfield’s Magic Legumes and trades Jim the expensive-looking telescope he acquired at the end of his trade run. Later, fans see Shrute watering the beans only to have Jim arrives after he leaves with fully grown plants to keep the comical con going.
