5 Michael Scott quotes you forgot about in The Office

Fans of The Office fondly remember many of the famous Michael Scott quotes, but there are many you may have forgotten. The character made popular by Steve Carrell was known for saying the strangest things. Below is a list of some quotes that are pretty good but may have been forgotten.

With the announcement that The Office is leaving Netflix at the end of the year, we thought it would be good to look back at the series.

5 forgotten Michael Scott Quotes

1. “If a baby were president, there would be no taxes.”

Michael said this while explaining how much he loves babies. He also compared himself to a baby and feels that is why they are drawn to him. This was during the episode “Baby Shower” when Michael forced the office to host a shower for Jan, who was expecting a baby.

2. “Make friends first, makes sales second, make love third. In no particular order.”

During the episode “New Leads,” Michael is reminiscing about how things used to be. Sabre has taken over and is changing things up, and Michael never likes change. Michael shares this quote, stating that is how this place used to work.

3. “It’s never too early for ice cream.”

This is a great quote, one I choose to live by.

In the episode “Cover Up,” Michael thinks his current girlfriend Donna is cheating on him. After talking to Dwight, who was of no help, he turns to Jim. Michael, in a state of depression, is eating ice cream in his office. Jim comments that it is awfully early for ice cream.  Michael says it’s never too early, and besides, it’s comfort food. Then, he explains that there was no ice cream, so he is actually eating mayonnaise and black olives.

4. “Everyone deserves a second, second chance.”

Michael always had a soft spot for the temp Ryan Howard. When Michael decides to start his own paper company in the episode “Dream Team,” Pam goes along with him. Of course, Michael wants to bring Ryan in, and Pam thinks it is a horrible idea. Michael ends up finding Ryan working at a bowling alley and states that everyone deserves a second, second chance, referring to Ryan and his history of fraud with Dunder Mifflin and being fired, his drug abuse, and probably the way he has treated Michael.

5. “I am running away from my responsibilities. And, it feels good.”

In season four, episode 4, “Money,” Michael finds himself in a lot of debt and famously shots to the office, “I declare bankruptcy!” He thinks if he “declares” this statement, it will help his financial situation. Oscar tries to help him figure out his finances, but it seems hopeless due to Jan’s spending.

Michael decides that he will just run away from everything by hopping in a boxcar on a train. He looks a the camera and says, “I am running away from my responsibilities. And it feels good.”

Somedays, that seems like a good idea to me also.
