There were some excellent Netflix dramas throughout 2020. Some of them captured our hearts for the romance, while others had us on the edges of our seats. Then there were others that were just so creatively written that they had us glued from start to finish.

Some Netflix dramas stood out more than others. They are shows that we’ll binge-watch over and over again.

There has been something for everyone, whether you want a supernatural series, a romance, or a beautiful period drama.

Everything on this list is a Netflix original series. While there were some excellent third-party shows added throughout the year, it’s all about the original shows that had new seasons during the year. And only the dramas. Not the dramedies and certainly not the comedies.

The Queen’s Gambit

It all starts with one of the greatest TV shows of the year over all, and not just on Netflix. The Queen’s Gambit is a standout period drama, and even has chess fans around the world praising it for its perception of chess players and females in the sport.

All the characters had likable elements to them, but they were also deeply flawed. It felt realistic, drawing us in with each new episode. While there was drama to entertain, this was a character-driven story that we need to see more of on our screens.

And there’s no doubt that the costumes and sets were to die for. I wouldn’t be surprised if this won a lot of awards.

The only downside is that The Queen’s Gambit is a limited series. There are no plans for season 2.
