Netflix shows canceled in 2020: GLOW

Staring the beloved Community’s Alison Brie along with Betty Gilpin, Britt Baron and Sydelle Noel, GLOW become one of the good Netflix shows canceled in 2020 after three successful seasons. This cancelation, in particular, burns since Netflix originally promised a fourth season and then reversed their decision this past October.

GLOW‘s story revolves around a fictionalized group of characters representative of the 1980s syndicated women’s professional wrestling circuit Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (or GLOW) founded by David McLane. In a 1985 Los Angeles, Ruth Wilder (Brie), is a struggling actress who goes out for an unconventional audition with a group of women for a show called the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (GLOW). After being chosen as one of the women wrestlers, Ruth finds herself clashing with not only GLOW’s director but also his leading lady Debbie (Gilpin), Ruth’s former best friend and retired soap actress. But Ruth is determined to make her new role work as it’s the only part she’s felt attached to with real substance.

Prime-Time Emmy Award-winning series follows the personal and professional lives of the diverse group of GLOW‘s women as they navigate the 1980s in Southern California and Southern Nevada. As the only women’s wrestling tribute on Netflix, we’re heartbroken there will be no more season 4, but, for now, GLOW will continue to light up our streaming screens with its three existing seasons.
