The Prom is coming to Netflix tonight

What time is The Prom on Netflix?

Fun musical numbers, glitter, and jazz are headed to Netflix tonight in the star-studded musical, The Prom. 

Ryan Murphy is breaking away from the horror scene for just a bit and shaking things up with The Prom. We’re excited about this for several reasons, but mainly because this isn’t Murphy’s first rodeo, so we’re looking forward to watching this new project.

The Prom saw a limited release in theaters earlier this month on Dec. 4, but it will premiere on Netflix on Dec. 11, will you be watching.

Depending on your location, the musical movie drops on Netlfix tonight at 12:01 a.m. PT or 3 a.m. ET.

The Prom is based on a stage musical of the same name that premiered on Broadway in 2018, so it’s still fairly new and now arriving at Netflix, where it will reach a larger audience.

Netflix shared the synopsis of the movie: “A group of down-on-their-luck Broadway stars shakes up a small Indiana town as they rally behind a teen who just wants to attend prom with his girlfriend.”

It sounds very entertaining and the trailers really captured our attention. Sure, December hasn’t been a huge hit when it comes to movies and television, but this makes us want to get up and dance!

However, the best part of the movie is the cast! There are some big names attached to this movie. Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, James Corden, and Trent star alongside newcomer Jo Ellen Pellman. Other names you may recognize include Keegan-Michael Key and Kerry Washington.

For the most part, critics have enjoyed the movie at Rotten Tomatoes, but I’ve always said it’s best to give everything a chance for yourself and then decide.

The Prom premieres Dec. 11 on Netflix and is now playing in select theaters.
