5 movies to watch like Triple 9 on Netflix

Triple 9 has made its way to Netflix and offers up an instantly riveting affair with an all-star cast that subscribers will not want to miss. The movie on Netflix has a similar tone to hits like Training Day and Heat and keeps audiences guessing until the very end.

From MCU veterans to Titanic Oscar winners all the way to Themyscira’s finest, Wonder Woman, occupy the ranks of this excellent crime thriller as dirty cops doing jobs for Russian crime bosses on the menu streets of Atlanta. From start to finish, Triple 9 is an incredibly entertaining affair, and for those that need more great action once the credits roll, here are five more options ready and waiting for deployment on Netflix.

1. Extraction (2020)

Extraction starring Chris Hemsworth is a superb action-packed flick with amazing stunt work and fight choreography making it a must-see affair. There is no shortage of adrenaline-fueled fight sequences and epic endeavors in the film about a Black Ops mercenary’s rescue of an Indian drug lord’s son. Chock full of twist and turns this Netflix original has resonated so well with subscribers a sequel is on the way. Until the next chapter arrives, fans can enjoy the initial mission in its entirety at the click of a button and will undoubtedly be a solid follow-up after watching Triple 9 on the streaming service.

2. Point Blank (2019)

For those that enjoyed watching MCU’s Falcon aka Anthony Mackie as a dirty cop in Triple 9 will be excited to learn he has another action-packed experience on the streaming service that puts him, once again, in a role, fans will find refreshingly different than his time fighting with the Avengers on screen.

The 2019 action film Point Blank, which is a remake of the 2010 French film of the same name, has Mackie playing an ER nurse whose pregnant wife is taken hostage, forcing him to help Frank Grillo’s character escape police custody and get the evidence to expose a bunch of corrupt cops. 3. Den of Thieves (2016)

If subscribers are looking for more intense heists and showdowns between dedicated cops and skilled thieves, then look no further than the 2016 sleeper hit Den of Thieves starring Gerard Butler, Pablo Schreiber, and 50 Cent. The story pits a group of county sheriff deputies against a surgical crew of armed and deadly crooks resulting in a feature film that feels very reminiscent of other hits of the genre like Heat or Training Day. Audiences will never see the twist coming, and the action sequences are nothing short of exceptional, making it an ideal choice after watching Triple 9. 4. Triple Frontier (2018)

If Triple 9 fans are looking for another star-studded thriller where former good guys resort to nefarious ways for a quick payday on a dangerous endeavor that could get them killed, then there is one Netflix original that fits that bill, and it is Triple Frontier. The story follows a group of ex-special forces members who, after risking their lives many times for their country, have very little to show for it. They decide to rob a cartel, and the end result is an action-packed thrill ride of a film that subscribers should not sleep on. The exhilarating ordeal stars Oscar Isaac, Ben Affleck, Charlie Hunnam, Garret Hedlund, and Pedro Pascal, making it yet another A-list action ensemble available on Netflix.

5. Mile 22 (2018)

If people looking to raise the stake considerably when it comes to which cinematic endeavor to experience following a viewing of Triple 9, then the obvious target is, without a doubt, Peter Berg’s thriller Mile 22. The pulse-pounding ordeal follows a CIA task force composed of paramilitary officers from the Special Activities Center mission to escort a high-priority asset to the extraction point 22 miles away. Standing in their way are wave after wave of heavily armed and trained assailants, and watching them do it is nothing short of outstanding. The cast is also next-level, with stars like Mark Wahlberg, Iw Uwais, John Malkovich, Lauren Cohan, and Ronda Roussey, making it an ideal choice after Triple 9.
