There are spoilers for Virgin River season 2 below! 

Virgin River season 2 ended with a bang, but we didn’t get to hear it.

In the final scene of the season, Mel finds Jack on the floor in the bar’s kitchen. He’s been shot in the abdomen by someone. Jack is bleeding out, and Mel is putting pressure on the wound. She needs to get him to a hospital or Doc’s as soon as possible.

This scene cuts deep. We just saw Mel and Jack end the will they/won’t they that had been going on for two full seasons. Mel and Jack finally, finally, finally seemed happy. The drama was going to end, and they’d settle down. That’s what we thought.

Now, the whole series has possibly been upended. We don’t know what’s going to happen next and the Virgin River season 3. Will Jack survive? Does Jack die? Will he make a full recovery? We just don’t know yet.

I think we all expect Jack to pull through and make a full recovery. We need the drama in this show, but we don’t need the Netflix original series to torture us and kill off one of the main characters this early in the show’s run.

Instead, we want to look at who pulled the trigger. Who shot Jack? That’s the main question, and the key to discovering who pulled the trigger is always in the motive. Why did someone shoot Jack?

If we can find the why, we’ll find out who shot Jack.
